    From Forseti:

Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar was a Castilian knight, formidable military leader and strategist. He is famously known for his conquest of Valencia from Moorish control during the Reconquista. The Moors gave him the title of El Cid, which stands for 'the Lord', and the the Christians named him El Campeador. El Cid's fighting ability was well known and his sword was legendary. In 1999, his sword underwent a metallurgical test and the blade was determined to be made in Córdoba in the eleventh century and made of Damascus steel. To this day, El Cid continues to be one of the most popular Spanish knights in history.

We pay homage to El Cid by naming this Damascus steel dagger after his legacy. Our dagger is designed in the shape of a broad sword, which was very popular during medieval times. It is a double-edged blade and has a slight spear shape to it. Longer than conventional daggers, the 9" Damascus steel blade could almost be called a short sword. Ornate handles have been designed to give the dagger a rich, historical look and are made of brass, bone, and horn. The exquisite looks of these daggers will not go unnoticed. The white and red handle is made of camel and buffalo bone. The black and red handle is buffalo horn. The black and white handle is buffalo horn and camel bone. The white and black handle is made of buffalo bone and horn, and camel bone. The handmade leather sheath gives you the option to carry the dagger on your belt in a vertical position. Our custom pine wood boxes and wood shavings add the finishing touch to these amazing daggers.
